Marta's Vinyard Chardonnay Signature Reserve Vintage 2003
The compressed granite, volcanic and sedimentary soils of this vineyard naturally limit vine vigour and produce lower yields with incredibly intense flavours.
This 2003 harvest was exceptional and we reserved a limited quantity for 5 months in 100% new French Oak barrels for extra depth. The results we have created are a harmony and balance rarely found in such a young wine, due to its intensely fresh flavours and subtly balanced oak aging. Excellent for drinking now and has plenty of potential for aging.
It had a delicate golden colour, with a complex clean grassy lemon nose. Supple, buttery and elegantly crispy on the palate, it has great structure with pristine varietal fruit balanced by tight acidity and subtle oak. This is definitely the best Chardonnay we have produced to date and earns the signature of our vintage premium range.
