Description
This iconic Malbec comes from sustainably managed vines located above 3215 feet in the valley of Ugarteche, in the foothills of the Andes Mountains. These vines are some of the highest elevation vineyards in the world. Drenched in the intense luminous sunshine of the day but the cooler high altitude nights intensify a slower ripening concentration of fruit. The harvested grapes are carefully transported to the winery in small containers to minimize bruising. Bunches are sorted and selected by hand and matured for 5 months in French oak. The result is a Malbec packed with robust pure fruit of black cherry and plum, restrained oak aging, subtle tannins, yet firmly built to lay for 5 years. Rich, firm with a long savoury finish. Perfect with all meat dishes. A classic example of the Malbec richness of Argentina.
